Amazon’s Alexa.com, a digital analytics giant, has announced the service’s retirement. The analytics site was founded in 1996 to assist individuals and organizations in locating, reaching, and converting digital audiences on the internet.
In terms of website analysis, the platform has been a major player. However, the firm stated on the 1st of May 2022, that it will shut down, which came as a shock to the digital marketing industry. On Wednesday, the firm’s website confirmed the news.
The statement read: “Twenty-five years ago, we founded Alexa Internet. After two decades of helping you find, reach, and convert your digital audience, we’ve made the difficult decision to retire Alexa.com on May 1, 2022. Thank you for making us your go-to resource for content research, competitive analysis, keyword research, and so much more. We have been proud to serve you as customers. Thank you sincerely.”
Customers will no longer be able to subscribe to the company as of December 8, 2021, according to the company. Existing subscriptions, on the other hand, will be valid until May 1, 2022. The last subscription paying date will be before April 1, 2022, and the APIs will be decommissioned on December 8, 2022, according to the company.
